Loop Installation
What is an induction hearing loop system? A loop system amplifies sound to people wearing a hearing aid with a t-coil (or telecoil) setting. The "looped" room or area has a thin wire running around it. This wire is connected to a special amplifier that sends the sound to the t-coil (receiver) in the hearing aid. The sound heard by the person with the hearing aid is often described as crystal clear - as if someone is talking directly into their ear. Trying to sort out confusing sounds is no longer a problem because background noise and distractions are eliminated. People without a telecoil in their hearing aid can also benefit from a hearing loop system by utilizing a portable telecoil receiver.
Our Loop System Specialist, Darren Smallwood, will gladly make presentations to churches, senior centers, banks, civic organizations, etc. to share his expertise that he has garnered through professional training and hands on experience. We have 100+ satisfied customers in WV, MD and PA who are "loving" their home loop systems. In a looped America, hearing aids are twice as valuable!!! Questions??? Call our office for details.
Video Electronystagmography
Video Electronystagmography or VNG is a state of the art diagnostic test for patients with vertigo and dizziness. Vestibular testing consist of a number of tests that help determine if there is something wrong with the vestibular (balance) portion of the inner ear or the Central Nervous System (CNS). The tests measure involuntary eye movement (nystagmus) while the subject’s balance system is stimulated in different ways. These tests can help isolate dizziness symptoms to a specific cause that can often be treated.
Audiology Hearing Care Services has teamed with ENT’s, Neurologists and Physical Therapists for follow-up treatment once the cause of dizziness is determined. For further information, please call our Martinsburg office at 304-264-8884.
